Senior Warrant Officer rank badge

To change information
One of the most significant changes in uniform regulations from the SADF to the SANDF would include moving the rank insignia from the epaulettes to the collar tabs. This particular example is for a senior warrant officer, the design of the insignia shows changes in cultural attitudes; trival motives can be appreciated, as well as the new national motto in ǀXam"!ke e: ǀxarra ǁke" "Strength in diversity". This is the early pattern patch, made in rubber inline over cloth. New patches are made of a full plastic pattern.
